The end of an era…PA West Soccer State Registrar and Office Administrator Cheryl Mignogna calls it a career just shy of 30 years with the state association. When she started on June 5, 1996 as a part-time data entry specialist she probably did not think she’d be wish us until April 18, 2025.
During her almost three decades of service to the association’s players, coaches, referees, and boards she’s witnessed three office relocations, eight presidents, three VP-Youth, three VP-Adult, two Executive Directors, five Technical Directors, and she worked with over 20 employees. She witnessed the association transition from having a small staff supporting a volunteer run operation to a professional staff that conducts the day-to-day operations.
That transition included, the move from paper rosters and passes with volunteer registrars in each district to online registration and registration operations moving entirely into the office. The move saw the elimination of staff doing manual data entry of all player and referee registration.
In addition to working in the office, Ms. Mignogna also volunteered on the State Cup and Open Tournament committees and she’d help with check-in at various events like the AGM, ODP tryouts, and other the annual Awards Gala (previously luncheon). She was also part of the local host committee for the Region 1 Championships in the late 1990’s, several Region 1 Fall meetings held in the 2000’s and 2010’s, and the US Youth Soccer Workshop and Coaches Convention 2008.
We’re thank her for her contributions to the association and the game of soccer. We wish her the best in her retirement!
