KDKA Meteorologist Ron Smiley has provided a weather update for Presidents Cup action across Pittsburgh this weekend:
“This weekend’s weather is going to be seasonal and damp with a couple of chances for some rain and maybe even a little snow. If heading out to watch your daughter’s or son’s team this weekend you’ll surely want the umbrella and the jacket,” stated Smiley.
“It may seem odd but our average daily high temperature for this weekend is just around 52°. The morning low average is around 32°. It’s always good to remind people of that with just how warm temperatures have been lately. Through Thursday, temperatures were running around 9 degrees warmer than average for the month. Both Saturday and Sunday temperatures will be around or just shy of the averages for this time of the year. Saturday morning temperatures should be in the mid to upper 30s… with temperatures in the 20s at 8a on Sunday morning. While both days will hit the 50s it’s going to feel warmer on Saturday. Add an extra layer if your game is on Sunday.”
“Rain chances will be isolated to scattered on Saturday… You may be lucky and remain dry during game time but there will be probably a little over half that won’t be so lucky. Keep the umbrella handy. Rain chances on Sunday are lower. How lucky are you feeling? You’ll likely be dry on Sunday but there will be a brief rain chance just after noon. Rain is not expected to be heavy enough to cancel any games. Good luck teams!”
