The registration age groups will be changing for play beginning September 1, 2026. US Youth Soccer, along with other youth soccer organizations that are US Soccer affiliates, will begin using an age group matrix that more closely mirrors the school calendar. This will be a return to a previous age group format replacing the calendar year groups we’ve been employing the past few years. This approach will allow more children to play soccer with their classmates.
A player’s age group will be determined by his or her age prior to August 1 of that year. Example: A player who is 11 on July 31 would be considered an Under-12.
