PA West Soccer Association is excited to share that two former players have been selected to the U-18 and U-20 Women’s Youth National Teams!

Fairview native Katie Scott has been named among 24 players selected for the Under-20 Women’s Youth National Team’s upcoming training camp in Kansas City, Missouri. The camp is scheduled to run from April 7 through April 16.
During the camp, the U.S. U-20 squad will face Brazil in two matches. The first game is set for April 11 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern at CPKC Stadium. The teams will meet again on April 15 at 3 p.m. Eastern at Riverside Stadium, the training home of the National Women’s Soccer League’s Kansas City Current. The camp and matches are part of continued preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Poland from Sept. 5–27.
Scott, a former member of PA West ODP, launched her international career with the U-15 U.S. Women’s National Team, playing a key role in the squad’s victory at the 2022 Concacaf U-15 Championship. She followed that up by helping the U-16 team capture the French Mondial World Cup title the next year. In 2024, she continued her success on the international stage, winning gold with the U-17 team at the Concacaf U-17 Championship and earning a bronze medal at the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
She scored her first international goal against Panama in the opening match of the Concacaf U-17 Championship. At the club level, Scott competes for the Kansas City Current in the National Women’s Soccer League.

McDonald native Abbey Spalla was among 24 players selected to the U-18 Women’s Youth National Team’s upcoming training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida, from April 10 through April 17, where she will endure on-field training sessions and internal scrimmages.
Spalla, a current member of Beadling Soccer Club’s 07/08 GA team, has become a key figure for South Fayette High School, a program known for its consistent success at the state level. Throughout her high school career, she has played an integral role in the team’s dominance, helping lead South Fayette to multiple WPIAL titles and a PIAA Class 3A state championship.
Spalla has committed to Penn State University, one of the nation’s premier Division I women’s soccer programs, where she is expected to continue her development against top-tier competition.
Congratulations to Katie and Abbey on their amazing achievements! The best is yet to come, and we can’t wait to see it.
