The 2023 Annual General Meeting saw the election of a new President, approval of the 2023-24 budget, and adoption of two amendments to the association bylaws. The meeting was held Saturday, July 29 at the Marriott North in Cranberry Twp.
Matt Vidic was elected to become the 11th President of PA West Soccer. Mr. Vidic was the Youth Board Secretary. He also continues to volunteer with the Centre Soccer Club. He will serve a two-year term that ends in 2025.
In addition to Mr. Vidic’s election to the Executive Board, the state council also elected Rachael Borromeo as Secretary, Abbie Duffy as a Member At-Large, and Eric Kowalski as Treasurer. Ms. Borromeo and Ms. Duffy will serve a two-year term through 2025. Mr. Kowalski was elected to complete the current term of Treasurer through July of 2024.
The state council also approved the 2023-24 budget. The financial plan does not include any increase in player registration or team league fees.
An amendment reducing the required number of Youth Board meetings from 10 to six was unanimously approved. Also approved unanimously was an amendment that reintroduces language related to the inclusion of the State Referee Committee as part of PA West Soccer.
While the meeting credentials were finalized, the state council saw presentations on US Youth Soccer’s USYS University from etrainu and Stack Team App. The online learning center provides members with access to various levels of educational programming on a range of topics. The Stack Team App is integrated with our online registration provider’s club registration platform allowing clubs and their coaches to have a variety of tools on their handheld devices.
