Monday, July 13, 2020 -- After a month-long competition that saw players compete in one of 16 state-run tournaments, the top 64 players have been invited to the FIFA-FEST: eSeries Championship.
The four-day FIFA-FEST: eSeries Championship kicks off on Monday, July 13, when the top 32 PS4 players will be randomly seeded across eight brackets. Bracket winners will then advance to the FIFA-FEST: eSeries Championship PS4 Grand Finale which will be held on Tuesday, July 14. On Wednesday, July 15, the top 32 XBOX players will be in action and the eight bracket winners will advance to FIFA-FEST: eSeries Championship XBOX Grand Finale on Thursday, July 16. The top two PS4 and XBOX players who compete in the FIFA-FEST: eSeries Championship will receive adidas cleats and the champions will receive an additional prize.
"It has already been an exciting month seeing players qualify from all over the nation for the FIFA-FEST: eSeries Championship," said Garrett Cleverly, FIFA-FEST: eSeries Championship organizer. "We're looking forward to seeing these top players compete in the coming days."

This series has been incredible by bringing many states together,” said Brenna Doran, FIFA-FEST: eSeries Championship co-organizer. “We are grateful for our members and sponsors who have joined up to make this event a great success”
PA West Soccer Association is excited by the response to the FIFA-FEST program and eSports in general, and has fully committed to ensuring eSports becomes a permanent part of the PA West Soccer suite of sports program offerings going forward. To achieve this goal, PA West Soccer has entered into a management agreement with Global Digital Sports (GDS) and GYO Score to provide youth eSports community activities, leagues, and tournaments going forward.
“We believe eSports are an untapped resource for state associations and clubs looking to draw new members to soccer. Through these programs, kids discover their favorite MLS teams, the rules of the game, and are given a healthy dose of competition. With more colleges offering e-sports scholarships to gamers, we see this as an opportunity to broaden our member’s influence in the world of e-sports and soccer as a whole,” stated PA West Soccer Communications Coordinator, Dean Ferraro. “The benefit for players and parents participating through the state association is the communal aspect; instead of competing with strangers, these competitors are members of our own clubs.”
To achieve this goal, PA West Soccer has entered into a management agreement with Global Digital Sports (GDS) and GYO Score to provide youth eSports community activities, leagues, and tournaments going forward. "We know our kids are going to game, and this isn't about getting them to game more or pass on soccer for gaming," said Shawn Smith, Product Director for Global Digital Sports. "This is about providing them a safe, structured, competitive place to enjoy video games with their age-appropriate peers while we continue to recover from COVID, and beyond." The GDS/GYO league and tournament platform was used to pilot the FIFA-FEST State Invitational for the state and will be announcing new state-wide programs in the coming weeks.
