About
Centers of Excellence
This PA West Soccer Player Development program offering is designed
to offer a higher level of training for U9, U10 and U11 players
through a cooperative effort between PA West Soccer and approved
clubs.
Players in this program
will be provided with a nurturing environment designed to focus
on technique development. Player-to-coach ratios will insure plenty
of individual attention by program coaches. Players will be encouraged
to take risks and experiment to improve confidence in their technical
abilities and will have an opportunity to train with the other top
players from their playing district.
Clubs granted “Centers
of Excellence” status are required to meet and maintain program
standards. PA West Soccer Coaching staff personnel will monitor
maintenance of the program standards and ideals through announced
and unannounced visits to guarantee program integrity.
Among the program requirements:
minimum licensing for the Technical Director and all coaches, facility
requirements, mandatory child safety/risk management measures, minimum/maximum
player-to-coach ratios to guarantee proper training environment,
and PA West Soccer staff oversight agreement.
There is a
limited number of Centers of Excellence granted in each playing
district based on player registration in the districts. Any
club or group of clubs affiliated with PA West Soccer can apply
for consideration to become one of their district’s Centers
of Excellence. |
