Director of Coaching and Player Development
Centre Soccer Association (CSA) is pleased to announce the addition of a Director of Coaching and Player Development. This exciting new position is a step toward an expanded offering of soccer options for youth and adult soccer players and coaches. CSA, the premier recreational and developmental soccer program in Centre County, plans to advertise the position in preparation for the 2010/2011 recreational and competitive season.


The Director will work at the forefront of CSA’s coach and player development programs and with the competitive soccer program.

A primary duty of the Director of Coaching and Player Development will be to develop and promote the coaching philosophy of CSA and to increase the quality of coaching within existing CSA programs by creating training opportunities for coaches.

In addition to developing coaches, CSA’s new Director will also be instrumental in developing and promoting new training programs to expand player development. Centre Soccer will continue to provide the same rewarding and fun soccer experience that soccer players of all ages; U5-adult, have relied on for more than 20 years. By adding a Director of Coaching and Player Development the organization can expand opportunities for players to improve fundamental skills, soccer-confidence, game-knowledge, and team cooperation. It will also allow CSA to increase the number of player workshops, clinics, and possibly tournaments.

This energetic, soccer-minded person will be responsible for promoting CSA and the game of soccer in State College and the surrounding communities. Penn State Beaver seeks applicants for the positions of head coach for men's soccer and head coach for women's soccer. The successful candidates will be responsible for coaching and coordinating all aspects of the program, including the recruitment and retention of student-athletes. Opportunities will also exist for qualified individuals to coordinate and instruct on campus soccer camps during the summer months and academic year. Preference given to candidates with coaching experience at the college or high school level possessing a bachelor's degree. A background check is required. Please note in letter of applicant if you are interested in the men's, women's, or both positions.
